Two Hurt In Collisions
A motor-cyclist. Barry Smith, of 37 Park terrace. Lyttelton, suffered head and arm injuries in a collision with a truck near the Christ-church-Lyttelton road tunnel on Wesdnesday afternoon. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital, where his condition was reported to be satisfactory. Mrs Claire Lynette Patton, a schoolteacher, of Waikuku Beech road, suffered head injuries and a broken arm when the car she was driving and another car collided in Amberley on Wednesday morning. Mrs Patton was admitted to the Burwood Hospital, where her condition was reported to be fairly satisfactory. The head-on collision happened in Douglas street about 9 a.m. Mrs Patton was thrown through the windscreen of her car. She was treated by a doctor and taken to Christchurch by the Rangiora St. John ambulance.
