Maugham Weaker
(N. Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) NICE, Dec. 13. Somerset Maugham, the 91-year-old author, lay in a coma today with death expected at any time. Hospital officials today declined to comment on Mr Maugham’s condition, but his personal physician, Dr. Georges Rosanoff, said after an examination last night: “We fear he cannot last much longer—24 or 36 hours perhaps. We fear a new deterioration in his condition and are completely powerless.”
