MARLENE DIETRICH HONOURED.—The Consul-General of Israel (Mr Avshalom Caspi) placing the Medallion of Valour of Israel round the neck of Marlene Dietrich at Lea Angeles. She was honoured for her refusal to return to Germany before the Second World War and for her entertainment of American troops in Europe. She is the first woman to receive the award.
