U.S. To Reply To Russians
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) NEW YORK, Dec. 6. The United States will reply today to Soviet charges that Washington is trying to invoke its will in Vietnam, Africa, the Middle East and South America.
The Ambassador, Mr Arthur Goldberg, was scheduled to speak in the Main Political Committee of the General
Assembly in answer to a Soviet warning on Friday. In a fifiminute speech to the committee on Friday the Soviet Ambassador, Mr Nikolai Fedorenko, warned that the Soviet Union would render "full political support and the necessary economic and military assistance” to North Vietnam. He also attacked American policy in virtually every other area of the world in a hardline speech which at times was reminiscent of the worst days of the cold war. America has already called the charges "outrageous and groundless,” but Mr Goldberg was expected to spell out the American position in details today.
