Scenic Reserve Near Turangi

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 2. Mt. . Pihanga—a famous mountain in Maori legend—has been included in a new scenic reserve. The Minister of Lands (Mr Gerard) said today that the new area, to be called the Mount Pihanga scenic reserve, comprises 12,700 acres of land around the mountain and Lake Rotopounamu. about four miles south-west of Turangi, on the southern edge of Lake Taupo.
