C.O.P. Advances On Bonus Issue News
Cash Order Purchases advanced 6d to 12s 6d on the Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday after news of the proposed two-for-five bonus issue. Closing quotes were: buy, 12s 3d; sell, 12s 9d.
Trading was restrained and the market again easier with three falls to every two rises over-all. Overseas issues were slightly firmer and New Zealand leaders almost in balance.
New Zealand Insurance rose 6d to 22s 9d and South British 4d to 80s lOd, but Dominion Breweries lost 5d to 16s lOd, New Zealand Breweries Id to 13s 3d, Schofield Is 3d to 45s 3d, Winstone 9d to 43s 6d and Winstone new Is 9d to 42s 6d.
