Body Found In Pit

Three Christchurch skindivers yesterday found the body of a missing Christchurch woman in Ashby’s shingle pit on the corner of Roydvale avenue and Wairakei road about 6.45 p in. She was

Margaret Elizabeth Templeton, aged 51, of 9 Burnside crescent.

The skin-divers found the body in 15ft of water beyond a ledge in the pit. The water-filled pit is about a quarter of a mile from her home.

The police, members of a group from the Riccarton Anglican Church and skindivers had been searching for Miss Templeton since she disappeared between 10 p.m. on Tuesday and 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

I Miss Templeton was a j bookseller. Her shop was t 12 Straven road.
