Lower Voting Age Supported
(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright)
LONDON, Nov. 25.
The Labour Party has decided to support moves to cut Britain’s minimum age for voting from 21 to 18 years. The party executive decided unanimously to urge such a cut at the Speaker’s ail-party conference, which is reviewing how Parliament should be elected. A Liberal Party official said Liberals had favoured votes at 18 for some time and welcomed support from the Labour Party.
The Conservatives declined to comment.
