McNAMAKA TO N.A.T.O. TALKS

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, Nov. 26. The American Defence Secretary. Mr Robert McNamara flies into London today to continue consultations with Britain on N.A.T.O.’s nuclear sharing problems.

His arrival coincides with the departure for Paris of the West German Defence Minister, who yesterday completed a round of talks with his British counter-part. Before leaving Washington, Mr McNamara said the United States would place “increasing emphasis” on bombing operations against the North Vietnamese infiltration routes into South Vietnam.

AU three Ministers will attend a meeting in Paris tomorrow of a special N.A.T.O. defence committee.

at which the right of N.A.T.O.’s non-nuclear countries to share responsibility for nuclear defence will be the main topic. Defence Ministers of all N.A.T.O.’s leading members, with the exception of France, Norway and Portugal, have agreed to take part in the meeting originally called for by the United States last spring.

The committee will report to a full N.A.T.O. Ministerial conference to be held in Paris from December 14 to 16.
