CLARKES WANTED
S. African Tour (N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON. Even if they are asked, the All Blacks, lan and Don Clarke may not tour South Africa with the London club, Harlequins, next year. lan Clarke said yesterday he had retired from Rugby and Don Clarke said he would make no decision until he received an official invitation.
The Clarkes were commenting on a report in the London “Daily Telegraph” that they may be asked to make the tour.
lan Clarke said: “My last game was for the Al] Blacks against British Columbia last year, and I have since given up all active playing.” The London report said that the tour by the Harlequins has been approved by the South African Rugby Board. Don Clarke said: “I want to know the full details.”
