Bartlett Swift
Although the early batsmen gave some spirited resistance, the East-Shirley middle-order and tail, again found G. A. Bartlett too swift and accurate enough to be a constant worry After S. R. Home was out early. J. W. Grocott and P. G Coman batted confidently and carefully with Coman giving his Innings a climax with a glorious ook for six off Bartlett Next ball, Bartlett, who had found his footholds somewhat slippery, bowled him with possibly his fastest ball of the Innings. There was some devoted defence in the middle but Bartlett was dominant and with P. A Sharp picking up some wickets also, the end came soon after lunch
Umpires: Messrs R. G. Aitken and J. C. Streeter.
