Waikari Property Brings £5500
‘‘Holmcroft,” a small holding of 15 acres three roods 34 perches at Waikari was sold for £5500 at public auction. The property was offered on account of the estate of Lieutenant-Colonel M. C. Peake. The auctioneer was Mr Frank Carpenter. Buildings on the property include a modern two-bed-roomed bungalow, garage, hayshed, and several small sheds.
The government valuation is £3lOO. A square house, containing six rooms, at 66 Hewitts road, Merivale, was sold for £2500. The property was offered on account of E. C. Griffiths by Mr J. Dyer.
The house is on a section of 22.4 perches, zoned residential B. Two self-contained flats on a section of 55 perches, zoned residential B, at 53 Charles street, Linwood, were passed in at £3lOO. The auctioneer was Mr J. N. Allan. One flat has three bedrooms, living-room, and kitchen, and the other comprises two bedrooms, livingroom, and kitchen.
