Miller Works To Go To Tribunal
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 4. Two works by Henry Miller, “Nexus” and “Plexus,” would go before the Indecent Publications Tribunal, a spokesman for Hicks Smith and Sons, Ltd., said today.
The two books are part of a trilogy “The Rosy Crucifixion” which includes “Sexus,” and is based mainly on events in Miller’s life. The spokesman for Hicks Smith, representing the English firm which published the works, explained that the two books had been on the prohibited list for years. The company believed the
books should be allowed Into New Zealand, and had therefore requested consideration by the tribunal. ’’Plexus" was first published in Britain in October, 1963, and “Nexus" in July, 1964. The spokesman said entry for “Sexus” was not being sought as the publishing firm his company represented did not have the rights to it.
