Market Shows Steadier Trend In N.Z. Trading
New Zealand stocks came into balance in yesterday’s share trading while overseas issues steadied, although rises were still ahead of falls. Key stocks followed a slightly firmer trend.
Most moves by New Zealand shares were narrow. Mannings made the sharpest rise with a gain of Is to 25s 6d. Skellerup continued to climb and added 3d more to sell at 58s and Tasman advanced 6d to 49s 9d.
Among Australian shares Bank of New South Wales rose 3d to 53s and the New Zealand Register shares Is to 52s 9d. Colonial Sugar gained more ground with a Is 3d rise to 55s and Broken Hill South rose 9d to 235.
