CATAMARAN CAPSIZES

(N.Z Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 1. The first time was very nearly the last time for two young men when they tested their new catamaran in the Waitemata harbour on Sunday afternoon. Graham Dare' and Garth Innes, both aged 21, of Pakuranga, were rescued from their capsized boat as it drifted helplessly towards the rocks of Rangitoto island after a sudden gust had tipped it over. They Were in the water for about 45 minutes when a passing launch stopped to pick them up.

Both men were exhausted when taken aboard. A coastguard auxiliary launch recovered their boat, which had grounded about 400 yards from the Rangitoto wharf. It was only slightly damaged.
