BROKE CAR WINDOWS WITH IRON BAR

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Nov. 1. A youth said to have caused damage amounting to £55 to a car by smashing its windows with an iron bar was convicted today. Terance Norman Gordon, aged 17, a garden labourer, pleaded guilty to charges of using obscene language and wilfully damaging a car, the property of David Henry Ronald Wilkie. Mi- F. McCarthy, S.M., convicted Gordon on both charges and remanded him in custody until Thursday for a probation officer's report and sentence.

He ordered that he be examined with a view to being sent to a detention centre.

Detective Senior-Sergeant B. T. N. Hutton said at 8.30 p.m. on October 23 the complainant was driving into the Point Chevalier car park when he almost struck Gordon.

After the car was parked, Gordon approached and used the language complained of. The complainant pushed Gordon. Gordon later borrowed an iron bar and returned to the car and smashed the front, rear and two side windows.
