WINNER OF POOLS
Death After Car Crash (N.Z.. Press Assn. —Copyright) LONDON, Oct. 31. A former miner who won £152.000 for a farthing in a football pool, was killed in a high speed car crash during the week-end, the “Daily Sketch” reported. He was Keith Howard Nicholson, aged 29, and it was his second major car smash in 16 months. His 3.8 litre Jaguar saloon skidded on a rainswept road in Yorkshire, crashed through a safety fence and ended up in a field. Mr Nicholson’s 73-vear-old uncle died in the crash with him. A miner. Mr Nicholson earned £l5 a week. His wife was a bakery worker. Then four years ago came the pools win.
Mr Nicholson invested £lOO,000, provided legacies for his three children, and went on a spending spree. Part of the spree was a large American car. which he wrote off in his earlier crash.
