B.B.C. Cricket Statistician

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Coppripht) LONDON. Arthur Wrigley, the British Broadcasting Corporation’s cricket statistician, died suddenly in hospital in Stockport, Cheshire, on Sunday. Mr Wrigley had been the 8.8.C.’s official scorer and match record keeper since 1934. His was the voice listeners heard when commentators asked for some fact or figure about a batsman's past or present performance. Mr Wrigley attended matches with a completed file on every person on the field, books of match results and stop watches.
