FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A complex depression over central New Zealand is moving eastwards. Forecast: West Coast and Nelson.—Moderate variable winds; few showers at first mainly in more northern areas, otherwise becoming partly cloudy and cold. Marlborough and Canterbury.—Southerlies, strong about Cook Strait, and south-westerlies fresh at times in other exposed areas; changeable and cold with showers frequent in more northern areas but considerable fair periods inland in the south.
