Assembly First

The Rev. Margaret Reid, of Wellington, will be the first woman minister to be a member of the Presbyterian General Assembly when it meets in First Church, Dunedin, tomorrow.

The assembly will consider the initial documents on church union prepared by the Joint Commission on Church Union, into which the Anglican Church recently entered. It is expected also that such issues as New Zealand’s participation in the Vietnam war will be hotly debated.
