NESTS IN SOLITUDE

Wasp New To N.Z. ("N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 29. A type of wasp, new to New Zealand, which lives in soli, tary state and builds a nest three inches in diameter has been found in the Hutt Valley. “This one is a mystery. We are not certain about it at all,” the professor of zoology at Victoria University. Professor J. T. Salmon, said today. “The nests are made by a solitary wasp, not the German wasp which groups into large colonies and makes large nests. It is not the nest of the Tasmanian wasp, another solitary wasp introduced into New Zealand. We are working on it,” he said.
