TASMANIA PATHOLOGY DEPARTMENT CHIEF MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST A VACANCY for the above position exists on the staff of the Pathology Department at the Launceston General Hospital. | QUALIFICATIONS: Associateship I or Fellowship of the Institute of Medical Laboratory Technolo gists. Applicants should possess wide experience in all sec tions of Hospital Laboratory work, preferably with a number of years’ post-qualification ex perience including supervision and training of students. Per sons holding a Science Degree and having the necessary bench exoerience would be considered. NATURE OF WORK: The holder of this post would be in charge, administratively and technically, of the work of all sections of the laboratory under the control of the Pathologist-in-Charge. An extensive training orogramme for technologists has recently been inaugurated and the successful candidate will be expected to participate in this orogramme. The existing lab oratory is well equipped and further new equipment is ex nected shortly. A completely new laboratory Is planned as part of extensions to the Hospital in the future. CONDITIONS OF SERVICE: Working hours: five day week of 37A hours. An emergency duty roster is in operation to cover night and week-end work and for this, there is additional remuneration. LEAVE: Three weeks’ annual leave. Cumulative sick leave to a maximum of 90 days. Long service leave after 10 years' continuous service. SALARY: Male: Within the range of £A2210 per annum to £A2262 per annum. Female: £A2OOO per annum to £A2050 per annum. For science graduates, the salary range would be within the undermentioned ranee: Male: £A2465 per annum to £A2886 per annum. Female: £A2262 per annum to £A2682 per annum. A superannuation scheme is available. Assistance with accommodation will be given for a limited period.
