Holm Co. Buys French Ship
fN.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 29. The Holm Shipping Company has purchased the Commandant MiMiasseau from Cie General Transatlantique and she will be renamed Holmpark. The ship is of 596 tons, was built in 1953, and is powered by two oil engines. Delivery will be taken at Colombo within the next few days by the Holm company’s marine superintendent (Captain I. A. Mackay) and a New Zealand crew. A cargo of tea will be loaded for Onehunga and the Holmpark will later enter the coastal trade. The early Renaissance period was not so dissimilar from our own, when art and science seemed to possess both affinities and differences and when new realms of knowledge were opening up. —Denys Sutton.
