Preston Wins Cycle Tour

(N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH. B. Preston (Levin) won the Feilding Amateur Road Cycling Club’s three-day handicap premier on Monday with a time of 7hr 4min 38sec for the five-stage tour. Second was R. Takinson (New Plymouth )with a time of 7hr 4min 47sec, and third was the Auckland competitor, P. Grace, who covered the 232 miles in 7hr smin 48sec. The tour started on Saturday and finished on Monday with a race over 60 miles. The “King of the Mountains” title went to L. Byers, of Auckland.
