Acapulco Impresses In Otaki Gallop

Though he did not work fast, Acapulco showed that he had benefited from his race last Saturday with his appearance and the way he did the pace work alloted him.
Work was done on the trial grass, the two-year-old track and the plough. The going was fast.
Acapulco, whirfi looks better than at any stage this season, was let off with steady work.
Hyfort and Nimbalina ran the last three furlongs of their work in 39 l-ssec. Hyfort was doing better than her companion on the line. He is in the Belmont Handicap.
Marconi and Everglades ran five furlongs in Imin 61 sec, the last half-mile in 54 l-ssec and the final three furlongs in 42 l-ssec. Marconi struck himself in a gallop last week and had to be scratched from the Heretaunga Handicap, but 1
yesterday he appeared to have recovered fully. Valentino and Falrlu impressed when they covered five furlongs in Imin 2 3-ssec. the final half-mile in 49 3-5 sec and the last three furlongs in 38sec. Falrlu had started at the mile and a quarter and was galloping strongly all the way.
New Segundo Hearing

The appeal lodged by the owners of Segundo against his relegation from first to second in the Oreti Hack Handicap at Winton, will take the form of a rehearing of the case, the secretary of the Southland district committee, Mr R. J. Cuthill, said yesterday.
The charges laid by the stipendiary stewards and heard by the Winton judicial committee, will now be heard by the Southland district committee at Invercargill next Tuesday.
