FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A small anti-cyclone in the Tasman Sea is moving north-eastwards and extends over New Zealand. Forecast:

Canterbury, Marlborough and Nelson.—Fresh north-westerlies about the Marlborough Sounds, elsewhere light to moderate north-easterlies predominating; fine, with moderate afternoon temperatures. Outlook: fine.

Buller and Westland.—Moderate variable winds, westerlies predominating in the afternoon. Partly cloudy, with moderate temperatures. Outlook: cloudy.
