Dr. Heinrich Kohler has been appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to New Zealand by the Federal Republic of Germany. He will succeed Dr. Herbert Noehring, who left New Zealand in September. Dr. Kohler has been consul-general in Bombay since 1961.—(P.A.) Mr D. G. Payne, Air New Zealand’s provincial representative in Dunedin since 1956, will take up a new appointment as district sales manager in Canberra on December 6. He will be the airline's first representative in Canberra. Mr Payne joined Air New Zealand in 1951, and was transferred from Auckland to Christchurch in 1953. Dr. K. F. X. Bourke has been appointed deputy-Medi-cal Officer of Health in Christchurch to succeed Dr. A. A. Cox, who was recently appointed Medical Officer of Health in New Plymouth. Dr. Bourke took his medical degrees at Trinity College, Dublin, end at the University of Glasgow. He has been in practice at Owaka for the last sever years.
