Milford Road Open

(N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL, Oct. 15. The Milford road was declared open by the Ministry of Works today. The resident engineer (Mr L. H. Spencer) said there was still some snow in the area, but the road itself was clear. The road has been closed by snow for more than a fortnight. Mr Spencer said there were many people wanting to get to Milford Sound.

“However, we advise them not to linger around the avalanche area,” he said.
