HURT IN FALL

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The Takanini jockey. D. A Peake, fractured his left collar bone when he fell off Teuira with five furlongs to go in the Gordon Handicap at Ellerslie on Saturday. After the race an inquiry was held into the fall. Evidence was heard from W. H. Simpson, assistant stipendiary steward, R. J. Sutherland, the rider ot Speedee, D. G. Foley (Untouchable) and G L. Willetts (Boodle).

Two films of the race were viewed. No further action \<as taken.

The apprentice, R. Heaslip. the rider of Pheroz Pride in the Gordon Handicap. was suspended up to and including October 30 for causing interference to Beau Coup (R. C. Lang) about a furlong and a half from the finish.
