MATTSON HURT

(Special Correspondent N.Z.P..

ROCHDALE. Injury worries plagued the touring New Zealand Rugby League team after the match against Rochdale Hornets on Saturday. The loose forward, G. V. Mattson, who was taken off after 31 minutes and was replaced by R. D. Hammond, has broken ribs and will not be available for the second test against Britain at Bradford next Saturday. Mattson played loose forward in the first test last month. Hammond may be switch d to this position when the second test team is announced today. P. J. Schultz, who played stand-off half in the first test, had two stitches inserted in a

split between his fingers after an injury he suffered at training last Friday. He played at centre against Rochdale and is expected to be fit for the second test.
