Important notice to persons with reservations at IE ANAU HOTEL All records of bookings were destroyed in a recent fire which damaged a large part of Te Anau Hotel.. The hotel is already operating again on a limited scale and it is anticipated that within one month half of the original accommodation will be available. The Tourist Hotel Corporation regrets that it will no longer be able to accommodate all persons with bookings, particularly during the summer months. Intending guests are asked to note the following: CLIENTS WHO HAVE BOOKED DIRECT should notify the hotel of their reservation —number of persons in party, dates of stay, type of accommodation allocated and means of travel (private car, air or coach service). The hotel will endeavour to accommodate or make alternative arrangements for all persons who have booked for the month of October, provided at least 48 hours notice of their visit is given. Those with bookings for November onwards will be advised whether the hotel can accommodate them, and if not, suggested alternatives in the area. CLIENTS BOOKED THROUGH TRAVEL AGENTS (Government Tourist Bureaux, etc) will have their interests looked after by their agents who have been asked to send details of bookings they have made to the Corporation for confirmation or re-allocation. Their agents will advise them in due course. CLIENTS BOOKED ON TOUR PARTIES scheduled to stay at Te Auau Hotel are advised that tours which cannot be accommodated at the hotel will use alternative accommodation in the area. The Tourist Hotel Corporation regrets any inconvenience that may be caused but is confident that, through the cooperation of other sections of the tourist industry this will be kept to a minimum.
