New Zealand will make a bid to hold the 1966 South Pacific water ski zone championships at the world congress in Australia this month.
The manager of the team, Mr C. Thurlow, and the captain and coach, Mr B. M. Douglas, will make an application for New Zealand at the congress, which is being held in conjunction with the world championships. If the appplication is successful, the New Zealand Water Ski Council plans to stage the championships together with the national championships at the Orakei Basin next March. New Zealand is included tn world zone No. 3, which comprises the South Pacific, Austrlia and a little of South-east Asia.
The six members of the NevZealand team to compete in the world championships at Surfers' Paradise, Queensland, assembled in Auckland on Saturday. They will train at Orakei for the rest of the week until they leave by air on Friday.
