FINE RIDING BY HANSON

Show Jumping Events (N.Z. Press Association) GISBORNE. The captain of the New Zealand equestrian team at the Tokyo, Olympic Games, Bruce Hanson, riding Viscount, was the outstanding performer in the jumping events at the Poverty Bay A. and P. Association’s spring show. On Friday he won the wire jump, was second in the maiden jump and rode his wife’s horse. Chief Stuart, to win the £3O Hunter’s Cup. On Saturday he collected £35 for the international table "A” jump on Viscount, after two jump-offs against lime. A second member of the Olympic team, C. Matthews, scored a double on Duckmanton which he owns jointly with I. McNeil. He took the improvers grade “C” international cup. The open jump was won by Mrs Wilson's Rick which carried a £35 prize.
