RUNNER-UP BEATEN
When the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association’s second grade mixed competition began on the hard courts at Wilding Park on Saturday, Waimairi, last season’s runner-up, was beaten, 10-6, by Barrington. Results were:
Section I. —Barrington beat Waimairi, 10-6; South Brighton beat South Christchurch, 9-7; Fendalton beat New Brighton,
Section ll.—Edgeware beat Spreydon, 16-0; St. Mary’s beat Shirley, 9-7; Avonside beat Opawa, 9-7.
