CALL TO U.N.
Intervention In Arabia
(N.Z.F. A.-Reuter—Copyright) NEW YORK, Oct. 15.
The former Aden chief minister, Mr Abdul Quawee Mackawee, today called for United Nations intervention in South Arabia to prevent bloodshed and the imposition of a “government of British stooges.” Mr Mackawee, whose government was dismissed when Britain suspended the Aden constitution last month, told the General Assembly’s trusteeship committee that British forces were keeping the people of Aden “in a state of terror.” He warned against “the dangerous British design of granting independence to a nominated government” in Aden and the South Arabian Federation.
