THIS REDESIGNED THOROUGHFARE IN ROME, known as the Corso d’ltalia, was opened earlier this year on the 2718th anniversary of the founding of the city. It is part of the extensive new road network that will connect the north-east districts of the city with those of the south-east. The underpass has been built so that no damage has been done to the archaeological features and monuments of the zone, although plans to make Rome both modern and functional have been respected.
