Parliament’s Diary

Some minor amendments to the Statutes Amendment Bill were all the legislation introduced when Parliament resumed yesterday morning after rising at 3.25 a.m.

Three measures were read a third time and passed. They were the Waikato Show Trust Bill, the State Services Amendment Bill, and the Government Service Tribunal Bill.

The Standards Bill, the Wheat Board Bill, the National Roads Amendment Bill and the Judicature Amendment Bill were passed through their committee stages. Second-reading debates were completed on the Rating Amendment Bill, the Valuation of Land Amendment Bill, the Oil in Navigable Waters Bill, and the Dairy Production and Marketing Board Amendment Bill. Urgency was taken on the last three measures, but the House rose at 4.32 p.m.
