Good Mare Dies
"The Press" Special Service INVERCARGILL. Some Day,a smart sprinter and successful brood mare died during the week, from a ruptured bowel. She was due to foal to Kurdistan and a filly was delivered by a caesarean operation. The youngster will be reared.
By Callander from the Salmagundi mare Some Sal, Some Day belonged to a non-stud book family which has produced many good winners over the years in Southland, including top gallopers in King Balboa and Queen Balboa.
Before an injury brought a premature end to her race career. Some Day won six races and was placed seven times in 17 races.
