OPEN HOUSE AT Y.W.C.A.

An “open house" was held at the Young Women’s Christian Association on Wednesday evening with members of the many clubs giving displays of their year’s activi ties. The function, which had a large attendance, was opened by the Mayor (Mr G. Manning) and Mrs Manning. .After being presented with their badges by the president (Miss L. Webb) members of the Blue Triangle Club performed a folk dance. Junior and senior ballet groups, tutored by Miss J. Luke, performed items, and the yoga instructor. Miss F. Nicholls, demonstrated exercises.

Young Marrieds’ Club members paraded with placards showing their year’s activities, and the Keep Fit group gave a display. A Maori action song was performed by the Campus Club, followed by a demonstration of ballroom dancing by Miss C. Storr and a group of her pupils. The evening concluded with a display of fencing and judo.
