Parliament’s Diary
The annual report of the Maori Purposes Fund Board was tabled when Parliament, resumed yesterday afternoon. Members stood as a mark of respect for Sir Walter Broadfoot, a former Postmaster-General.
Urgency was taken on four clauses in the estimates, after a division whi. h the Government carried 38-31. The following clauses of the estimates (with the amounts actually spent last year in parenthesis) were approved: Department of Education, £66,700,000 (£61,460,382), Department of Health, £6,240,000 (£5,789,609).
