SUBMARINE SEEN

North Coast Of New Guinea (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) PORT MORESBY, Sept. 14. The Administrator (Sir Donald Cleland) confirmed today that an unidentified submarine had recently been sighted off New Guinea’s north coast. He said the submarine was outside the three-mile limit. The submarine is reported to have been sighted several times between Vanimo, near the West Irian border, and Manus Island, where Australia has a naval base. Officials have refused to give details of the sighting. The submarine is reported to have been photographed by the captain of an inter-island trading vessel.
