50 Years In Rugby

AIR W. H. OLIVER, a x former Canterbury Rugby representative, will complete 50 years active association with Rugby at the end of this season. A brother of the double international, C. J. Oliver, he began his Rugby with the Sunnyside club and captained the senior team when it won the championship in 1936. Mr Oliver played four games for Canterbury in 1934, while his brother played in four also. After he stopped playing, Mr Oliver took up refereeing and lately has been a regular line umpire at Lancaster Park and Rugby Park.
