NEW YORK, Sept. 6. The United Nations Security Council was in recess yesterday awaiting responses from India and Pakistan to its call for an immediate cease-fire in Kashmir. U Thant relayed the council’s unanimous decision to the two governments following his own appeal last Wednesday for a cease-fire.

At Saturday night’s emergency session, representatives of India and Pakistan objected to the resolution.
