Drummer Wants To Extend Visit
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, September 3. Vivian Prince, the stranded British pop drummer, wants to stay in New Zealand for a few days.
Prince was removed from a Pan American World Airways plane at Whenuapai on Thursday night after an argument over a bottle of whisky he had taken on board. He was escorted from the plane by airline officials while his fellow mertibers of the group, the Pretty Things, left for Britain without him.
Mr J. N. Haddleton, the promoter of the Pretty Things’ New Zealand tour, said today Prince wanted to remain in New Zealand to meet a friend, the American pop singer, P. J. Proby. Proby is due in Wellington on Sunday from Australia. Prince’s luggage and passport which were taken to Fiji on Thursday night, have been returned to Auckland.
The manager of the Pretty Things, Mr B. Morrison, is also remaining in He is in Middlemore Hospital with a stomach haemorrhage.
