Committee To Meet

A five-man delegation from Commonwealth Games Promotion (Canterbury) wall discuss the presentation of New Zealand’s case for the 1970 Games in Wellington on September 8. The New Zealand Olympic and British Empire Games Association has set up a sixman committee for the consideration of administrative details before New Zealand's case for the games can be presented at Jamaica next year. Finance will be one of the principal matters discussed. The delegation to Jamaica will be required to show in what manner the games will be financed and give an idea of the admission charges. Thirteen sports are officially recognised for the games and New Zealand will be required to make a definite choice of nine. It will also be required to give information of those who will be responsible for the administrative details of the games in Christchurch. The delegation and six-man committee will also discuss the manner of the presentation of New Zealand’s case and who will be sent to present it

The delegation will be Messrs C. W. Hamann, J. B. Taylor, H. T. Dean, R. S. Scott and E. H. Williams.
