Trees
Sir ; —l inVite all the treelovers of Christchurch to take a drive along Locksley avenue. They would then have something very well worth while to write about, instead of pouncing on the reserves department and the university when they so much as suggest the possibility of removing a tree. The havoc made by private citizens needs lo be seen to be believed. The trees concerned were a real joy to all passers-by. One of them, in particular, I am given to understand, was one of the finest and largest of its kind >n the South. Island. - I shall look forward to hearing the comments of the tree-lovers.— Yours, etc., BURWOOD. September 2, 1965.
