Catering Courses In Auckland Next Year

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 31. Courses for those employed in the catering industry would begin in Auckland next year, the Minister of Education (Mr Kinsella) said after agreement on the proposals had been reached at a meeting of interested parties. The Auckland Technical Institute would hold trial parttime courses, and if these were successful they would be run permanently.

The Minister said the courses would be for those already ’employed in the industry. Full-time pre-employ-ment courses and those at a more advanced level would be investigated later. There would be three basic courses, the first catering for hotel and restaurant employees, the second in cookery and food handling and the third a food presentation course.
