Presbyterian Spending

WELLINGTON, Sept. 1.

The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand spent £410,000 in the year ended July 31, the treasurer, Mr J. C. Smaill, said in Wellington today. The congregation of the Presbyterian Church exceeded the amount of £290,000 they were asked to give for this work by £1194, apart from the requirements of their local churches. The main expenditure was £123,500 on mission projects in India, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, New Hebrides and Papua. For the de velopment of new causes in New Zealand, £90,000 was spent and £58,000 assisted the Maori Church. Training ministers and deaconesses cost £56,000. Presbyterian congregations will be asked to contribute £305,000 in the coming year for this work.
