SUSPENSION OF DRIVERS

AUCKLAND, Sept. 1. The New Zealand Traffic Institute will seek an amendment to the traffic regulations to make drivers convicted of offences which could have caused accidents liable to lose their licences on their first subsequent conviction for speeding. Mr F. McCarthy, S.M., recently said the Transport Act seemed to “mollycoddle” speedsters in that until they had been convicted twice their licences could not be affected.
