N. VIETNAM DIVISION

Use In South Denied

(N.Z.P.A -Reuter—Copyright) HONG KONG, Sept. 1.

The (North) Vietnam news agency last night denied the presence of a North Vietnamese Army division in South Vietnam.

The agency said it had been authorised to refute allegations made last Friday by the United States Secretary of State (Mr Dean Rusk) that North Vietnam’s 325th Division was operating in South Vietnam. “The United States authorities have fabricated this story in an attempt to cover up their massive dispatch of additional United States troops to South Vietnam to step up the aggressive war there and their escalation of the destructive air war against the Democratic Republic of Vietnam,” the agency said.
